Do you need support to help prepare your students and teachers for the global realities they will face in the real world? Do you think global education is important, but don't have the resources to implement a new program?

Join us on SATURDAY, May 8, 2010 9:30AM - 4:00PM at the UNIVERSITY OF PENNSYLVANIA for the Global Education Lab. For an interactive map of the location, visit: www.upenn.edu

The Global Education Lab was developed to help educators deal with the new challenges and complexities facing our schools, our country, and the world. And, to do so without the costs of starting a brand new program.

“Eye opening! Easy to follow guide to implementing global education in your classroom” was just one of the glowing comments following our recent full-day Global Education Lab hosted by the University of Pennsylvania’s South Asia Center, African Studies Center, Center for East Asian Studies, and Middle East Center.

WHAT THEY'RE SAYING . . .

“Comprehensive, insightful, thought provoking, well organized, interactive and eye-opening.”

“Great day jammed packed with pragmatic tools along with a lot of inspiration.”

“Great overview of the field with excellent supporting materials and opportunities to learn from other teachers.”

“Well worth the time. Easy to implement in classroom.”

“Very practical and useful. Informative, exciting, inspiring.”

“Ideas, ideas, ideas! I love leaving with all these new ideas!”

“Fast-paced workshop inspires K-12 teachers to bring global connections into their classroom; fosters global awareness and a positive view of the future.”

One of the reasons for this enthusiasm was the Global Education Lab’s “amazing” handout DVD that was loaded with:

  • Over 250 of the latest state-of-the-planet reports, books, and documents on everything from • energy • climate • economics • children • women/gender issues • communication • environment • water • health • human rights • poverty • and a host of other topics.
  • Along with another set of global education materials on • assessment • global service learning • globalization • lesson plans and curriculum • plus over 15 movies ready for classroom use • and over 120 websites loaded with additional global education materials.

The Lab provides you with the information, background, tools, and techniques to use in helping your students understand the new world we find ourselves in and to better cope with the responsibilities and prerogatives of global citizenship. It includes how you can use video conferencing to link your students with other students around the world, attend conferences put on at the UN, and other innovative uses of technology. The program is delivered by the global education organizations BigPictureSmallWorld and Global Education Motivators. Visit www.globaledworks.com for a complete description of our program.
