Haiti Before and After the Earthquake

General Description: The recent earthquake in Haiti will be remembered as one of the major human tragedies of the 21st Century. Spend time in a videoconferencing format listening and talking with radio broadcaster Olieve Charmelius to learn more about this impoverished nation, the effect of the earthquake on its people, and what the future holds for Haitians.

olieve charmelius 2.jpgBackground on Presenter: Olieve Charmelius is a highly motivational speaker representing the Haitian people. Mr. Charmelius was born in Haiti and migrated in the United States at an early age. He works for Haiti Heavenly Radio Vision which focuses on broadcasting news in Haiti. Haiti Heavenly Radio Station was the only radio station operating during the earthquake and was the main link that Haitians had to the world.

fritzner dupicje 2.jpgFacilitator: Fritzner John Dupiche Jr is a senior at Chestnut Hill College in Philadelphia, PA. He is majoring in Criminal Justice, with a minor in Psychology. He is a Haitian national completing his internship with Global Education Motivators (GEM).
